One-off 36 Keelboat (11.05 m) – 1982
Price: 2,983 M CFP / €25,000
Escampette is a custom-built keelboat designed by Edmond Lecoq in Granville. It features a 4 cm thick polyester and PVC foam sandwich construction, making it unsinkable, very sturdy, and lightweight. Its advantages include a robust hull and rigging, lightweight construction for its size, easy maneuverability, and being a full-keel boat. It can be beached at low tide on the flat bottom of the hull, known as the “salmon,” and the rudder can be retracted. Additionally, it handles very well at sea, cutting through waves without resistance.
The previous owner fully equipped it for single-handed sailing (radar, oversized autopilot, yankee on a furler, lazy bag, etc.)
The interior comfort reflects the boats of the 1980s—somewhat dated but very functional. The electrical system has been almost entirely redone, with LEDs, a 2022 Lithium battery paired with four solar panels totaling 480 W. The boat comes with many spare parts and appropriate tools.

Construction and History
Built in 1982 by the shipyard in Granville according to Edmond Lecoq’s plans (all plans are onboard)
Hull and deck in polyester/klegecell 40 mm/polyester sandwich
Engine replaced in 2002, fully rebuilt in 2023.
Standing rigging unchanged but still in very good condition
After nearly 20 years with its builder, crossing the North Atlantic and Panama, it was sold in 1999 to a retired French couple in Nouméa who spent 25 years sailing the South Pacific (Australia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and Polynesia). The current owners purchased it in December 2023 in Nuku Hiva for a 6-month family trip with 2 children (ages 6 and 10) to explore Polynesia during a sabbatical. The trip is ending, and unfortunately, they cannot bring Escampette back to France as their work does not allow them to extend their stay.
